Meet Camelia (Mimi) Felton, the founder and owner, of Mimi's Yoga Kids. She is a BYTA (Black Yoga Teacher Alliance) + Yoga Alliance RYT500, E-RYT200, YACEP, RCYT, a Certified Meditation Instructor, a YBB (Yoga Behind Bars) certified Trauma-Informed Yoga Instructor, a certified Vibrational Sound Therapy Practitioner & a Reiki ll Practitioner. She is currently enrolled at Prema Yoga Institute to become a certified Yoga Therapist. Mimi started Mimi's Yoga Kids in 2018 after realizing the many benefits of doing yoga with her young grandson. She knew that this was something that kids and their families needed. She couldn't find what she wanted so she decided to create it! She currently has a community yoga/wellness space in Peoplestown, a community in Atlanta, Georgia. With the support of amazing partners she offers free yoga/wellness practices to the community and surrounding areas. She is also the current Africa Yoga Project ambassador for 2023 and can't wait to share her mission globally. She is always excited to share the many gifts of yoga with children and their families. As she keeps learning and growing she will share her knowledge with the world to cultivate awareness on how these wonderful practices can teach all of us, especially our children, MINDFULNESS, INNER PEACE, MEDITATION & IMAGINATION! Meet Dasia Quinn, Yoga Alliance RYT-200, is a remarkable woman who embodies strength, compassion, and versatility in every facet of her life. With a background as a Veteran Army Medic, Dasia's journey has been a testament to her unwavering dedication to service and healing. Having served in high-pressure situations, she brings the same commitment and resilience to her role as a yoga teacher.
As a mother, Dasia's nurturing spirit shines through not only in her interactions with her own children but also in her yoga classes. Her classes are infused with a deep sense of care and understanding, creating a space where her students can explore their bodies and minds with gentle guidance.
Dasia's commitment to holistic well-being is infectious. Her wellness journey has transformed her into an advocate for self-care, mindfulness, and the importance of balance. Drawing from her diverse experiences, she offers a unique perspective on achieving wellness—both physically and mentally.
Join Dasia on the mat as she guides you through yoga practice, infusing each session with her military discipline, maternal warmth, and a deep appreciation for the human body's capabilities. Her journey from Army Medic to nurturing mother reflects a life lived with intention, purpose, and an unyielding desire to empower others to live their best lives.
Meet Shanell Ferris, a Yoga Alliance 200-RYT and a certified aerial yoga instructor. Trained in Hatha yoga Shanell brings a beautiful mix of breath-work (pranayama ), meditation and movement to her classes. Shanell discovered yoga her freshman year in college and quickly fell in love with not only the asanas (physical poses) but the way she felt after each yoga class, feeling at peace with her mind and body, connecting back to nature and embracing more of the present. Learning about the 8 limbs of yoga and practicing yoga on and off the mat through pranayama, mantras and movement has opened up a whole new level of balance and healing on her life’s journey that she wanted to share with the world. Yoga assisted with her ability to navigate high stress situations and her mental health during really tough times in her life. Yoga has continued to provide her with the tools she needs to navigate her life’s journey from hardships to healing. Shanell's goal is to have students connect with themselves, honor their bodies while curating a safe space filled laughs, lightness and inclusivity. As an aerial yoga instructor as well, creating a space for a deeper restorative flow, inversions and playful flow to your practice is always at the forefront. Join Shanell on the mat as she guides you through fun flows, bringing more peace and healing to the mind body and spirit.
